Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

How do I get water out of my basement?

Storm water is "black water".

If you Bloomington or Richfield home is flooded after a storm there are some expectations on how it will be cleaned.

  1. Standing water is removed with an extractor or sump pump.
  2. Wet porous items are discarded, i.e., wood chairs, couches, and bedding.
  3. Carpets and pad are removed due to contamination.
  4. Wet porous building materials carry contamination and are cut out.

This basement in Bloomington, MN had two feet of standing water. Everything needed to be removed and the SERVPRO technicians were now cleaning and disinfecting the basement. Once cleaned the air movers and dehumidifiers can be added to dry the floors and framing.
