Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

What to do if you have a flood in your home?

If your home floods:

  1. Contact your insurance company to determine coverage.
  2. Talk to the local fire department before turning on electricity.
  3. Be safe when entering flooded areas as bacteria and animals might be present.
  4. Contact SERVPRO of Bloomington / Richfield to remediate the damage.

Mitigation is the process of lessening the amount of damage done to your home due to flooding. The tearing out of wet materials removes bacteria and mold from the home. The next steps will be to clean the dirt and grime from the floors and start the rebuilding process, which will take a few weeks in this case.
